"I'm Your Huckleberry" (inspired by Val Kilmer and "Tombstone")
"Tombstone" is one of the most well regarded westerns of the modern era. It is filled with amazing performances. I would argue that none are more commanding than Val Kilmer's turn as "Doc" Holliday. He is absolutely magnetic and just steals every scene he is in.
I discovered some Basswood planks in a craft store a little while back. They were meant for creating art with a wood burning pen. However, with a few coats of a clear acrylic sealant they became an excellent surface on which to paint something "rustic". I originally intended to hold the piece horizontally and paint the faces of the four heroes as they head to the O.K. Corral to dole out justice to the Clanton gang. While working out the likenesses I decided to make this a solo piece and concentrate on Val Kilmer. There are just so many neat visual touches to his character. "You're a daisy if you do!"
